What a wedding caterer must get right for a Marwari wedding

Serving a generic North Indian menu with dal baati bolted on. This is a community that eats this food at home and will identify a Punjabi kitchen in one bite.

The requirements

Specific and checkable. Take this list to any wedding caterer in your city.

  • Pure vegetarian throughout, and in most families no onion and no garlic either
  • Genuine Rajasthani repertoire — dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, papad ki sabzi — not a Punjabi menu with one Rajasthani dish added
  • Serious mithai and namkeen counters; the sweets are not an afterthought at this wedding
  • Capacity for four-figure guest counts across several days without the quality dropping on day three

Ask them this

Word for word. The answers tell you more than the portfolio does.

  • “Can you cook ker sangri and gatte properly, and who on your team is from Rajasthan?”
  • “What is the largest Marwari wedding you have catered, and over how many days?”
  • “Is your kitchen no-onion-no-garlic across the whole event or only for one counter?”

Who has confirmed they do this

Nobody yet — we are still calling. We speak to around 150 Gujarat wedding vendors a week, and we are now asking each one whether they meet this brief. Only vendors who tell us yes, directly, will appear here.

We could have filled this section by guessing which businesses are Marwari from their names. That would have been quicker and it would have been made up. The list below stays empty until it is real.

Are you a wedding caterer who meets this brief? Tell us and we will list you. No fee, now or ever.
