Food as theatre · 2026 wedding season

The late-night comfort counter

The food people actually remember, served at midnight when dinner has worn off.

What it actually is

Mini versions of unserious food after the formal dinner — sliders, fries, mini pizzas, masala maggi, grilled sandwiches. It is one of the clearest 2026 catering trends, and at an Indian wedding it works because the dancing runs long after the dinner service has closed.

Indicative cost

₹120–250 per guest

A range for a Gujarat wedding in the 2026 wedding season, not a quote. It moves with guest count, city and how far out you book. Get three.

When it works

  • The sangeet or reception runs past 23:00
  • A younger crowd who will still be there
  • Dinner was formal and people want something with no ceremony attached

The part nobody else prints

How this goes wrong

Order for about 40% of the guest list, not 100%. Most people have gone home; caterers quote for the full count and the difference is thrown away. Ask for it to be priced on consumption if the caterer will agree.

Every idea here is easier than telling three hundred people about it.

You can book all of this and still spend the month chasing headcounts. That part is what we do — the invitations, the replies, the rooms, the arrivals, on WhatsApp, with a person making the first call and a person checking every count.
