Choosing a tent that is not just a roof
Clear-span, German hangar, or a traditional shamiana — and what each one cannot do.
What it actually is
A clear-span structure has no internal poles and takes rain properly. A German hangar is the large-format version. A traditional shamiana is cheaper, warmer in look, and has poles exactly where the aisle wants to be. The choice is structural before it is aesthetic.

The part nobody else prints
How this goes wrong
Poles landing in the aisle or in front of the stage. It is decided by the tent contractor from a stock layout unless somebody overlays it on the actual seating plan.
