Peace be with you · 2026 wedding season

Planning a Christian wedding

An Indian Christian wedding is two venues with two capacities, and that mismatch is the defining logistical fact. The church seats what it seats, the reception hall seats something else entirely, and the guest lists for the two are not the same people. Practice differs sharply between Catholic and Protestant families, and a Goan or Mangalorean wedding carries its own traditions — the roce especially — that a generic vendor will not know.

The functions, in order

If a vendor cannot name these without being told, they have not worked this wedding before. That is not a disqualification — it is a thing to know before you sign.

  1. 1 Roce
  2. 2 Church Ceremony
  3. 3 Nuptial Mass
  4. 4 Reception
  5. 5 Sunday Lunch

Guests are greeted with Peace be with you , and addressed with uncle / aunty. The celebration itself is a wedding.

And then the guest list

Two venues, two lists, and a church with a hard seating limit. This is the one community where the RSVP has to produce two different numbers or somebody stands outside.

That is the part AI Shaadi does. Launching for the 2026 wedding season — no wedding has run for a paying customer yet, and we would rather say so here than let you find out later.

We may have some of this wrong

Practice varies by region, by sect and by family, and these briefs were written from general knowledge rather than from inside the community. If something here is wrong for how your family does it, tell us and we will fix the page — that correction is worth more to us than the page as it stands.
