What a wedding caterer must get right for a Hindu wedding
Assuming the family’s dietary practice from their surname. Ask; it takes one question and it is the one that gets remembered.
The requirements
Specific and checkable. Take this list to any wedding caterer in your city.
- Ask the family what they observe — vegetarian-only, no onion and garlic, or unrestricted. It varies completely and assuming is the error
- Separate veg and non-veg preparation entirely where both are served
- Prasad and any ritual food handled to the family’s instruction, not the caterer’s habit
- Per-function counts, since attendance differs between mehendi, sangeet and the reception
Ask them this
Word for word. The answers tell you more than the portfolio does.
- “How do you keep veg and non-veg genuinely separate, from kitchen to counter?”
- “Can you quote per function rather than for the whole wedding?”
Who has confirmed they do this
Nobody yet — we are still calling. We speak to around 150 Gujarat wedding vendors a week, and we are now asking each one whether they meet this brief. Only vendors who tell us yes, directly, will appear here.
We could have filled this section by guessing which businesses are Hindu from their names. That would have been quicker and it would have been made up. The list below stays empty until it is real.
Are you a wedding caterer who meets this brief? Tell us and we will list you. No fee, now or ever.
Every wedding caterer we hold, by city
901 businesses ranked by Google rating weighted against review volume — not filtered by community, because that data does not exist. Take the requirements above to any of them.
